Odis was born in Allen, Oklahoma to Bill H. Short and Bessie May Satterfield on October 25, 1919. He married Lela Grace Bradley on January 16, 1941. They had five children. Alvin Jay, Harold Joe, Derlene Deloris, Ronnie Gene and Ricky Earl. Ricky Earl died at birth and is buried in Llano as well. They lived in Amarillo most of their lifes. Odis worked hard and owned a gas station on the corner of Bell and Plains which is now Diamond Shamrock. He was a great father and grandfather. His memory will be with us always. He passed away at home of a heart attack.
