Services for Alton Barfoot, age 83 of Dublin, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, December, 5, 2013 at Jefferson Street Baptist Church Chapel. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Darren Talley and Rev. Jay Moore will officiate. Mr. Barfoot died Monday, December 2, 2013.
Mr. Barfoot was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church, the Bernard Hurley Sunday School Class, and an active member of the Brotherhood. He retired from Georgia Power after a thirty-five year career where he worked as a truck wrench operator. He also worked as a Security Guard at Forstmann and Fairview Park Hospital and worked at the Laurens County Recycle Collection Center.
Mr. Barfoot was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline Wall Barfoot and Joel Barfoot, and brother, Olis Barfoot.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
