WALTER M. WOLFE, 88, died yesterday afternoon at his home, 112 East Baltimore Street. Born at Wolfsville, he was the son of Jonathan N. and Amanda (Blickenstaff) Wolfe, and came to Hagerstown when he was 14.

He was employed at the old Pope Bicycle Works and later as a bleacher and dyer at Roulette's Mill. He retired 25 years ago. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, he was also the oldest member of the First Hose Fire Company.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Kerr, Easton, Md., and a son, Ross L. Wolfe, Hagerstown.

Funeral services were held at the A.K. Coffman Funeral Home; burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
