Mary was the daughter of Joseph Higbee and Elizabeth Ely, of Trenton, old Hunterdon (now Mercer) Co., NJ. She married Robert Pearson III by New Jersey license dated 12 Apr. 1764. See his memorial for a list of their children.

Note: Genealogist Charles R. Hutchinson gives her a middle name Elizabeth in his 1917-19 manuscript Pearson genealogy (see his papers at New Jersey Historical Society, Newark, and on FHL microfilm). Since no middle initial appears in her or her children's gravestone inscriptions, the middle name seems questionable and so is not shown above.
