Cheryl Kay Allison, age 57 of Albia, died Thrusday, November 28, 2013, at Monroe Care Center in Albia.

Cheryl was born September 13, 1956, to Donald D. and Helen Arlene(Brown)Allison in Albia. She grew up and attended school in Albia, graduating from Albia High School in 1974. After high school she worked at Trophy Glove, was a housekeeper at Monroe Care Center and Monroe County Hospital, and worked for Albia Community Schools as a teacher's aide.

Cheryl was a member of the Crazy Quilters' Guild and she enjoyed spending time with her daughter, reading, writing poetry, painting and drawing, cooking, and crocheting. She also liked flowers, playing with her pets, Antiques, and reserching her family history.

Cheryl is survived by a daughter, Sara(VanHulzen)Allison of Albia; a brother, Richard(Jan)Allison of Moravia; and many nieces and nephews. Cheryl is also survived by her three four-legged friends named Zoey, Boo and Lily.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Karol Ann in infancy and Patty Goodman.

As was Cheryl's wish, her body has been cremated and a visitation will be 1-8 pm, Friday December 6, 2013 at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with her family present from 4-8 pm.
