Shirley Lee Asmus, 77, of Bowling Green, OH, died April 17, 2013 at her home. She was born February 4, 1936 in Deshler, OH to Harold and Ruth (Walter) Smith. Shirley was a 1972 graduate of Otsego High School. She worked at BGSU for 15 years, retiring in 1982. Shirley was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was on the altar committee and a preschool aid. She was a den mother for Pack #350 for 12 years. She loved baking, yard work and taking vacations once in a while. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley married Robert Paul Asmus June 20, 1953. He preceded her in death in 2002. Survivors include, sons Richard (Shelley) of Oak Harbor, OH, Stephen (Jennifer) of Haskins, OH and James (Cheryl) of Bowling Green, OH, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and brothers, Gene (June) Smith of Bryan, OH and Tom (Janice) Smith of Weston, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Friends and family may call Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 1-7p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, Tontogany, OH. Funeral Services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Haskins, OH. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery.
