Elva May Daff, 83, a resident of Crownsville since 1984 and previously a longtime resident of Odenton, died April 17 following a lengthy battle with diabetes. She was a homemaker who enjoyed Bingo, slots, reading, canning vegetables, playing music, singing, sewing, and bowling. Elva was preceded in death in 1991 by her husband, Calvin W. Daff. She was also predeceased by her parents, Lester Lee Hood and Rosa Knight Hood; and her brother, Charles Hood. She is survived by her son, Richard L. Daff, Sr.; grandchildren, Richard L. Daff, Jr. and Bobby Redmiles Jr.; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. There is a Visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 22, at Hardesty Funeral Home, PA, 851 Annapolis Rd., Gambrills, Maryland. A Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, at Hardesty Funeral Home, P.A. Interment Epiphany Cemetery, Odenton. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association .
