Robert Eugene Starkey, 74, of Mannington, WV, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Fairmont General Hospital. He was born February 11, 1939 in Pricetown, WV, son of the late Marvin Carl Starkey and Edith Kendall Starkey.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Elsie Lorraine Hayhurst Starkey who died on Sept. 22, 2012.
He leaves to cherish his memory 3 children, son, Simon "Sam" Starkey and wife Dawny of Sanford, NC, daughter, Tina Starkey Chicarelli of Fairmont, and son, Robert "Rob" Starkey and wife Julia of Winston Salem, NC; 2 brothers, Darrell Dallas Starkey of Elyria, OH and Barry Leon Starkey of Lorain, OH; 4 grandchildren, Mandy Minger, Joshua Chicarelli, Crystal Starkey and Jessica Williams; 4 great-grandchildren, Aren Minger, Hailey Minger, Mariska Barker and Leila Williams.
He worked many years at EIMCO in Fairmont as a welder before moving to D & G Machine in Mannington, where he retired.
There will be no public visitation or funeral services. A graveside service will be held on at the Rymer Cemetery on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Harry Holbert officiating. Burial will follow the service. Arrangements by Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV.
