Albert Eugene Rollison was born Oct.
27, 1917 in Willmington, Ohio to Carey
Blair and Ethel Mae (Weigert) Rollison.
As a boy he received his eighth grade education
in Storm Lake.
On Oct. 30, 1939 Al was united in
marriage to Maxine Louise North in
Storm Lake. To this union one daughter,
LaVina Mae, was born, and a son.
He enlisted into the U.S. Navy on Jan.
6, 1944 as an apprentice seaman 5 V 11-6
U.S.N.R., receiving an honorable discharge
on March 14, 1945.
Al held various jobs, including highway
construction, masonry work, bartender
and school bus driver. He retired in
1993, following a stroke.
He loved to play bingo, dog and horse
races, and golf. He also had two cats that
he adored and often referred to as his family
after his wife passed away.
Albert passed away on Jan. 3, 2000 at
the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown
at the age of 83 years, two months and six
days. He was preceded in death by his parents;
wife, Maxine; a sister; and a son.
