Cornelius Nugent is my 2nd Great Grand Father. His burial is really not unknown. Here is an excerpt from the book “Nugent Pioneers of Central Louisiana” by Sarah Bowman Hann, published privately in 1985:
"Cornelius Nugent died on the 5th of February 1865. His grave is marked by a marble headstone on the land where he was born, which is now a part of the Kisatchie National Forest. Tradition tells us that he wanted to be buried in his corn field; that is where he was buried."
