Albert was the second son and sixth child of Thomas Littleford and Marthina Ann Thompson. He drowned at the age of sixteen while swimming in the South Saskatchewan river. Jack Campbell, a family friend, also drowned while attempting to save him. Albert was buried in the St. Barnabas churchyard (later known as the Kin Coulee cemetery) next to his mother, who had passed away only eight months earlier.
