Vina Louise Abbott, 82, of Lubbock, went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013. She was born on March 29, 1931 in White deer, TX to Willie and Pearl Dittberner. She graduated from Pampa High School and went on to attend Amarillo College.

Vina married Billy Earl Abbott on Canyon, TX in Pampa, TX on May 19, 1951. Bill and Vina moved to Mami where they lived until 1954. They then made White Deer, TX their home and remained there until 1995. Bill then retired and the Abbotts moved to Lubbock to spoil their grandchildren.

Vina was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Carl Dittberner of Yucapia Calif.

Vina is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bill Abbott; her son, Billy Mitchell Abbott and wife Tonya, both of Lubbock. She is also survived by her two granddaughters, Shanda McNabb and husband Dustin and Allison Sansom and her husband Eric, all of Lubbock. Also surviving are her four great-great-grandchildren, Allie and Cooper McNabb and Campbell and Crawford Sansom. Also surviving are a host of friends and family from all across the Panhandle, as well as Lubbock that share wonderful stories of her smile, her laughter and the fun, joy and love she brought to every occasion.

She spared no effort win making everyday occasions a celebrate. Vi was also an active member of her community and belonged to the First Baptist Church of White Deer. She was active in several Bridge clubs and loved to play golf. Her Bunco group became her favorite pastime when she moved to Lubbock. Vina left a legacy of love of life to be cherished by family and friends.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Littlefield Memorial Park and a celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The family will be receiving friends and family at 6 p.m. today in Sanders Funeral Home in Lubbock.
