Daniel A. Tyson PORTSMOUTH
Daniel Allison Tyson, 85, of the 400 block of Bobby Jones Drive, died Aug. 24, 2005, in a Portsmouth hospital. A native of Wake County, N.C., he was the son of the late Nathan Tyson and the late Lillie Spikes Tyson. He was also predeceased by his first wife, Mildred Davis Tyson. He retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop 11, Production Dept. and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 189 AF&AM. Surviving are his wife, Ann Reynolds Tyson; two sons, Barry D. Tyson and Gerry K. Tyson, both of Portsmouth; and a brother, James Edward Tyson of Raleigh, N.C. A funeral with Masonic rites will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Dr. Walter Black. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
