Betty was the daughter of Micajah C Paulk and Mary Jane Harper Paulk. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Charles (J.C.)Smith, a son, Jimmy Smith, a grandson Reavis Steadley, a granddaughter, Becky Barr, a great grandson, Jason Smith, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She was a retired teacher having worked in Tift, Glenn and Worth Counties. In 1972 she opened Smith's Nursery. She was a member of Ty Ty Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.
