Martilla Ann"Bettie" Spivey was born 9 JAN 1852 • Greene County, North Carolina to Moses W. Spivey and Jackey Ann Cox. She was married to Noah Tyson Bedard, a Civil War veteran/ soldier, from Greene County on 25 October, 1868 by Rev. Gideon Allen at the home of Oliver Bedard, father of Noah, in Olds Township.

They had 3 children: Annie Laura "Annie", 1869; Henry Walter, 1877; Herman Stewart, 1882. Annie was a 22 month-old child when she passed away in 1871. She and is buried in the family cemetery but the location of the stone is uncertain. Several children seem to be buried there with none identified. Noah and Bettie lived in Olds, Greene County, NC Noah passed away EATH 29 DEC 1923 • Halls, Sampson, North Carolina
