Mary A. "Jeannine" Self, 77, of King George County passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, at her home.

Mary was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and grew up in Calvert County, Md. She was a former substitute teacher, CNA and waitress. Mary was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in King George and the Hampton Moose Lodge.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Self; two daughters, Teri Allen of Surry and Criste Scott (James Jr.) of King George; stepdaughter Savannah Azimi of Hampton; three brothers, Frank Middleton (Pam) of North Beach, Md., and Gerard Middleton and Mark Middleton, both of Chesapeake, Md.; and numerous grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sons, James Allen and John Allen; and sister Diane Heiss.

A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, with a prayer vigil at 3:30 p.m. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, King George. Burial will be in St. Peter's cemetery, Oak Grove.

Memorial donations may be made to Mary Washington Hospice.
