During the summers of 1959 and 1960, he was employed at Portland Ore., retuning to Ellendale after being seriously injured in an automobile accident there in November 1960. He had undergone kidney surgery at University hospital in Minneapolis last February and again in July.
Jim had been a delegate to Boys' State, was a member of the Explorer Scouts, having served as patrol leader, and of St Helena's Catholic church.
In addition to his parents, he leaves one sister, Janice, a senior at Ellendale High School; one grandmother, Mrs Mary Puhr of Valley City; seven uncles, six aunts and 12 cousins.
