Oscar then re-enlisted as a private in Company M of the Eleventh Michigan Cavalry on August 8, 1864, in Reading, Michigan. He was mustered into service on September 12, 1864, and joined the regiment in Lexington, Kentucky, on October 17, 1864. Oscar was discharged from service on June 16, 1864, at Knoxville, Tennessee.
