Lucinda was married first to Ephraim Scarlett (1818-1850) on June 30, 1836 in Clark County, Ohio. Their children included: Clark, James and Tamar Ann Scarlett. Lucinda and Ephraim moved from Clark County, Ohio to Noble County, Indiana. Lucinda moved back to Clark County, Ohio between 1850 and 1852. Lucinda married a second time to Thomas Canady on May 22, 1852 in Clark County, Ohio. Lucinda and Thomas had at least one child together named Guy Canady (1852-1924). Lucinda died between 1852 and 1857. Lucinda was the daughter of Nathan Town and Ruth (Wood) Town (sometimes written as "Towne") and the sister of Nathan, Fanny, Sarah, Delecta and James Town. Her mother died in Noble County, Indiana in 1846 where Lucinda was living at the time.


Lucinda's father - Nathan Town, was born on July 29, 1771 in Andover, Massachusetts and died sometime after 1820 in Clark County, Ohio. He married Ruth Wood on November 6, 1799 in Rindge, New Hampshire.
