Mr. Hogan was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Alameda, Calif., to parents Walter and
Pearl (Beasley) Hogan. He graduated from Oakdale High School in Oakdale, Calif.,
in 1945, and married Jerrie Barmore in 1954. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army
during the Korean War.
Mr. Hogan lived in Central Oregon in 1971, where he had a ranch and in 1973
owned and operated Hogan Manufacturing in Madras. He moved the business to
Portland in 1983, and worked in a steel manufacturing for many years.
He loved dancing where he met and married Lois Cooper, on Oct. 11, 2005.
He was a devout Christian and a member of AWS, Milwaukie Elks Lodge No. 2032,
and Woodburn Eagles Lodge No. 3284. His special interests included sailing,
water skiing.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Cooper-Hogan of Vancouver, Wash.; sons, Russ
Hogan of Portland, Phil Hogan of Vancouver, Wash., and Brian Hogan of Portland;
daughter, Cathy Zorbas of Kenai, Alaska; sister, Ethel Nepsted of Roseville,
Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Oct. 20, at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in
Gresham, with interment at Willamette National Cemetery. A dinner and dance in
his honor followed at the Milwaukie Elks Lodge. Memorial contributions have been
suggested to the Dreamcatcher's Wish Program, 7524 S.W. Macadam, Suite B,
Portland, OR 97219.
