Norma Jean Freeman, 75, was a daughter of Charles and Mildred Krout Booe. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Sandy Spear and a nephew, Brian Spear. She first married Joe McClellan, with whom she had three children. She later married Charles G. Freeman on May 20, 1971 in Danville, Illinois. He survives.

Also surviving are her three children, Nancy McClellan, Chris (Bill Weiand) Polston and Mark (Sue) McClellan; two brothers, Tom (Judy) Booe and Rick (Cathy) Booe; a brother-in-law, Vick Spear; four grandchildren, Tamra, Justin, Cassie and Kyle; a great-granddaughter, Lilah and five step-children, Rita (Bill) Pearson, Daniel Freeman, Judith (Tommy) McIntyre, Rachel Goble and Rebecca (Donald) Gillis.

She earned her cosmetology license at Pivot Point Cosmetology School. She went on to open her own salon, Norma Jean's Beauty Salon in Danville, Evansville, Indiana, Fairbanks, Alaska and then in Veedersburg.
