John and Mary (Cooper) Best were members of the Lutheran church that once stood on the grounds where the cemetery is today. It is believed they are buried there but either there was no stone or it got broken and washed away. There is a C Best marker in this cemetery and I believe they are buried in that part of it. Mary was residing in Kalida in the 1860 census with her son William W. and his wife Nancy Best.
