Obituary 1:
Michael Ryan Absalonson

Michael joined his savior Jesus Christ on December 17, 2007 at the age of 23 while completing his senior year at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. He was born on May 9, 1984 at Monterey (Fort Ord), California. Michael's graveside memorial is located at Hillside Cemetary, Issaquah, WA.

As part of a military family for more than 20 years, Mike's home was always within the hearts of his family & friends. Mike'a life was lived primarily in Northern Virginia, Sammamish & Sumner, WA and WSU-Pullman, WA. He attended schools overseas first in Izmir, Turkey and later Springfield, VA. Mike attended Auburn-Riverside High in Auburn, WA and graduated from Centreville High School, Centreville, Virginia. On January 2, 2008, University President Elson Floyd noted that Mike had already completed his degree requirements and so posthumously awarded the Bachelor of Arts Degree to Michael for his hard earned work and persistence.

Throughout life Michael was an avid reader, snow and water skier, and had recently taken up the sport of fly fishing with his Dad. He enjoyed soccer and baseball as a young little leaguer. We occasionally went on a few hikes together. Mike always excelled in school and brought nothing but compliments from his teachers. At an early age he showed us his love for God, speaking of wanting to be a Priest and help people. He entered college with a passion to become a medical doctor. Most recently his internal “passion to serve” translated into a desire to serve in the Peace Corps upon graduation from WSU. He showed true concern for the world's issues and loved to debate. Truth, justice and those less fortunate and suffering were dear to him. The vast majority of people who knew Mike would tell you that his signature trait was to be peaceful/respectful toward others…… as Mike was NEVER one to cause harm toward anyone.

This loving son, brother, and friend to many are survived by his parents Steve and Audrey Absalonson, his siblings, Michelle and Nicholas, grandparents Harriet Fugier, Lloyd and Mary Absalonson, his niece Kayla, and many relatives and friends. So Mike, we say farewell for now..... as you go and serve the Lord. Our love and blessings to a wonderful son, grandson, brother and uncle!
