Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, MO . Friends may call 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, at Carson Funeral Home, 9100 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO , with a rosary at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Mr. Bowling was born October 13, 1925, in Kansas City, MO , and was a lifelong resident. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Navy. He was a 1974 graduate of Findley Engineering College.
Mr. Bowling had been an engineer for 14 years for the General Motors Corporation, retiring in 1990. He had formerly been employed by the Raytown Police Department for 14 years. He was a former scoutmaster of Troop 283.
Mr. Bowling was Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus, 4th degree, member of the Honor Guard of Knights of Columbus, Chapter 4962. He was a former Grand Knight of Columbus Council 10746. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean M. Franklin; his mother and father; his brothers, Glenn Bowling , Dean Bowling and Wade Bowling . Survivors include his wife, Alice R., of the home; three daughters, Karen A. Venis, Harrisonville, MO , Teresa S. Sroufe and Nancy L. Reding, both of Grandview, MO ; one son, Joseph E. Bowling , Middleburg, VA; two sisters, Juanita Hartman, Stillwater, OK, and Falba Beckerdite, Lee's Summit, MO ; 11 grandchildren; and two great granchildren.
