HULL – James Robert Arnold Sr., 67, formerly of Jackson County, died Thursday, October 28, 2010.
Born on July 3, 1943, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Clyde and Elizabeth Potts Arnold. He was retired from the United States Navy with 20 years of service as a Chief Boatswain's Mate during the Vietnam War. He was self-employed after retiring from the Navy. Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Page. He loved life and his family, loved ones stated.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Neva Fields Arnold, Hull; children, Donna and Tim Anthony, Jefferson, Jimbo and Connie Arnold, Hull, Tammy and Preston Farmer, Nicholson; grandchildren, Jeremy Moore, Josh and Erica Arnold, Casi and Tyler Arnold, Danielle Hanson, TJ Anthony and Hunter Farmer; great-grandchildren, Caiden and Peyton Arnold; brothers, Hope and Carolyn Arnold, Athens, Frankie and Barbara Arnold, Athens; brother-in-law, Dwight Page; and lifelong friends, John Blevins and George Lemmons.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 30, at 2 p.m., from the Brockton Road Baptist church with the Rev. Jesse Mealor officiating. Burial will be in the Jackson Memorial Park with Dwight Page, Rusty Arnold, Aubrey Arnold, Scott Hanson, Michael Nelms and Henry Strickland honored as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, October 29, from 6 to 9 p.m.
