OBIT: [The Progress, Clearfield PA 5-31-1969 Pg 1] Mrs. Paul Ruch, Kin of Pioneer Settler, Dies- Mrs. Mae Ruch, wife of Paul E. Ruch of 211 North Second St., and a direct descendant of Daniel Ogden, pioneer settler of Clearfield, died at 9 o'clock this- morning in the Clearfield Hospital. A lifelong resident of Clearfield, Mrs. Ruch was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, the Susquehanna Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Clearfield Hospital Auxiliary. She also had been active in many other community affairs. She was born Aug. 25 1903, a daughter of George and Nancy Tate Bryan, both now deceased. She traced her lineage through her mother to Daniel Ogden, who settled in Clearfield with his three sons in 1796-97 in the area that is Ogden Avenue. Mrs. Ruch is survived by her husband and two daughters; Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Wilson of Clearfield and Mrs. David (Paula) Bonner of Macon Georgia; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson have been living in Missoula, Montana, where Mr. Wilson has been doing graduate study this year and were en route home when Mrs. Ruch’s death occurred. She also leaves four sisters: Mrs. Arvena Daniels of Downingtown; Mrs. Margaret Spinelli of Sharon; Mrs. Oma Doyle and Mrs. Lillian Durst of Washington, D. C. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Also surviving is an Aunt, Mrs. Olive Frank of Lancaster. Funeral services will be held from the Fred B. Leavy Funeral Home Tuesday at 2 p, m. with burial in Crown Crest Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. until the hour of services Tuesday. In Lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the Clearfield Hospital building fund.
