Lola Jane Edwards, 88 years of age, of Concord, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013 after a brief illness at CMC - NorthEast in Concord.
She was born October 28, 1925 in Cabarrus County to the late William Caldwell Hill Sr. and the late Annie Mae Hill.
She was also preceded in death by husband, Gordon Pershing Edwards Sr.; daughter, Nancy Jane Morgan; grandson, Dustin Layne Edwards; 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 12:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord officiated by Rev. Steve Pennington. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery.
Survivors include son Gordon Edwards Jr. and wife Lorene of Mooresville, NC; daughter Frances Whitlock and husband Ted of Concord, NC; 4 sisters - Pauline (John Ed) Ferguson of Harrisburg, NC, Edith (Harold) Smith of Concord, NC, Janice (Robert) Macleod of Harrisburg, Patsy (Gary) Sellers of Concord, NC; 4 brothers - Alvin Hill of Concord, NC, George (Ann) Hill of Harrisburg, NC, WC (Lora) Hill Jr. of Concord, NC, Roy (Sue) Hill of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Lisa Edwards, Aaron Edwards, Kristie McGee, Brian McGee (Melanie), and Melody Helms, as well as numerous great grandchildren
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and devout Christian. She retired from Cannon Mills, and was a charter member of the Cabarrus Co. Saddle Club.
