Bruce M. Addy, age 87, sadly has passed away on Thursday November 7, 2013 at Medi-Lodge of Monroe, Michigan, with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 3, 1926 in Ironton, Ohio he was the son of Glad and Mabel (Trainer) Addy. Bruce graduated from Dundee High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy immediately after graduation to serve the remaining years of WWII, stationed in the Philippine Islands. He returned to the Dundee area after his service and worked for Woodall Industries in Monroe and HC Dean & Sons contracting in Dundee until going to work for the Federal Correctional Institution in Milan, where he worked for 20 years, until retiring in 1981. Bruce loved taking road trips with his loving wife Mary (Snell), of 42 years, exploring Michigan and New England. They also loved attracting birds to their yard to watch them. Bruce also dabbled in woodworking as a hobby. In addition to his wife Mary, Bruce is survived by three children; Mark (Linda Haskins) Addy of Ypsilanti MI; Michael (Susan Midkiff) Addy of Dundee MI; John (Cathy Dailey) Penrose of Columbus, OH., seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Jean Snell and a brother Gordon Addy. Arrangements for cremation have been taken care of by Ochalek Funeral Services of Milan, MI.
