According to information found in The Batesville Daily Guard [Batesville, AR] on March 29, 1921, Willie was with his brother & 2 friends on the Britts' property to search for some wild hogs the Britt brothers had purchased. A neighbor & his brothers confronted them over the hogs & the neighbor shot Willie. Britt was placed in the wagon and they started for the home of his mother, but he died before reaching her house. The article said the Britts lived about four miles from Batesville on the Cushman road. In the 1900 & 1910 census, the family was living in Washington township of Ind. Co. In the 1920 census they are living in Cushman township & Willie's father was deceased. The funeral was held on March 30th in the Pleasant Valley graveyard near Cushman.
I have not found the outcome of the murder but will attempt to research the outcome.
I have linked Willie to the memorial of John Q. Britt, although John's birth date varies a bit from census date.
