He was born October 1, 1928, in Muskegon, to Thomas Cook Sr. and Addie (Pattenger) Clock. A 1946 graduate of Muskegon High School, he attended Muskegon Community College and Wayne State University Department of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1952.

Mr. Clock was a Communicant member of Faith Lutheran Church in Whitehall. He was an avid golfer for many years, a long-time member of Lincoln Golf Club. Mr. Clock's love for Muskegon Community College included serving for 33 years, beginning in 1963, on the Board of Trustees, being voted in in every election he entered. In 1971, he with his family made the move to Whitehall on April 15, 1971, purchasing the Purdy Funeral Home. In 1972, Clock Funeral Home became the White Lake Area's sole funeral establishment with the purchase of the Gee Funeral Home. He served his White Lake community on the City Planning Commission and the TIFA Board and was a long-time member of Montague-Whitehall Rotary Club and the Chronicle Old Newsboys. Tom Jr. was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and also was a dedicated WGN (Chicago) fan. He had been a member of Muskegon Dance Club and was a devotee to Dixieland Jazz. Tom Jr. and Yvonne loved to travel after retirement and took many cruises and trips.
