Annie's birth certificate says she was born in St. Neots, Cambridgeshire. Annie married Thomas Cheville in Dec. 1876. They were happily married 43 years.

After leaving the service of his country, Thomas was a brewer. He and his wife worked in "The Ship" Quayside, Ely, a brewery that was in use from 1661 until 1956.

All of their children were born in Ely. Her niece, Elizabeth Hood, daughter of Thomas' brother Hezekiah, lived with them until she returned to America with her husband's mother, her mother-in-law Martha (Scarrow) Cheville.
