Benjamin Franklin Lee was born in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY on June 26, 1860. He was the seventh child of James Lee (b. England) and (Mary) Eliza JONES Lee (b. Wales).

The Lee family lived in Kentucky for many years. By 1880 Benjamin was living with his sister Millie Oldham's family in the Grand Pass area of Saline County, Missouri. Also living with Millie's family were Benjamin's brothers James Napoleon, William Henry, John Morgan, George Jackson, Daniel Boone, and their mother Eliza.

Benjamin married Mary "Molly" SMITH, age nineteen, on June 30, 1886. She passed away the following year and is buried in the Grand Pass Methodist Cemetery in Saline County, Missouri.

Benjamin's second marriage was to Ollive "Ollie" Margarite WILCOX Lee. (m. 1890?) Ben and Ollie lived in Grand Pass, Missouri. Their children were: John M., William R., Flossie M. and Harry. Ollive passed away in 1906 and was buried in Grand Pass Methodist Cemetery.

Benjamin's third marriage was to Sarah KELLEY.

By the 1930 census, Ben was living in St. Mary, Hancock, Illinois. He was listed as 69 yrs old and married.

In the 1940 census, Ben was in Camden Township, Schuyler, Illinois. He was listed as 79 yrs old and widowed.

Benjamin died Dec. 7, 1940 and is buried next to Christopher Columbus Green & Christopher's wife, Sarah Ann LEE Green who was Benjamin's sister.
