Carl LeRoy Merrill, 84 - ABBOT VILLAGE and DEXTER - died February 6, 1992, at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 23, 1907, in Abbot, the son of Myron and Ida (Loveland) Merrill. He graduated from Abbot High School and Beal Business College. He owned and operated Merrill & Merrill Garage in Abbot Village for 33 years and was a school bus driver in Abbot for 24 years. He was a 50- year member of the Mt. Kineo Masonic Lodge in Guilford and belonged to Local No. 621 of Brewer. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Clukey) Merrill ofDexter. one daughter and her husband, Carol and Robert LaRochelle of Ripley; two granddaughters and their husbands, Bobbie Ann and James Fields and Jannie and Timothy Potter, all of Dexter; six great-grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. He was predeceased by a brother, Percy Merrill. Funeral services were held February 10 at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter, with the Rev. Sidney Buzzell officiating. Spring burial will be in Abbot Village Cemetery. Those who wish may make contributions in his memory to the Dexter Ambulance Service.
