McKINNEY — Memorial services for Mrs. Nellie Laura Holcombe, 86, of McKinney, who died Tuesday at a nursing home in McKinney, were to be held at 5:30 p.m. today in the chapel of Horn- Harris-Crouch Funeral Home in McKinney with the Rev. John McCallon officiating. Born Oct. 3, 1904, in Boerne, Mrs. Holcombe was the daughter of Jefferson Davis and Emily Lee Davis. She married Afton Eli Hol combe. They operated Holcombe Grocery in Old Ingram until his death in 1954. She was a retired bookkeeper for North Side Pharmacy in McKinney. She was a member of First Baptist Church in that town where she was a longtime member of the church choir. Surviviors include a grandson, Dr.Todd Linstrum of Cleburne; and a granddaughter, Karen Sue Linstrum of San Marcos. Horn-Harris-Crouch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
