Frederick E. Judkins, 90, formerly of Norway, died Friday at the York Hospital in York.

He was born in South Paris, a son of William N. and Mary H. McDonald Judkins. He attended South Paris High School.

Mr. Judkins worked at Wilner Wood Products in South Paris, and L.M. Longley & Son in Norway. He later moved to Kittery, where he worked at the Naval Shipyard as a sheet metal worker and inspector. He lived in Kittery for the past 40 years.

Mr. Judkins was avolunteer firefighter for the Norway Fire Department for many years. He was a 45-year member of Oxford Lodge, A.F. & A.M. of Norway; Pennesseewassee Lodge, Knights of Pythias; Oriental Commandery of Bridgton; Royal Arch Chapter of Kittery; Oxford Council, Knights Templar; and was an honorary member of William Whipple Chapter, Order of Demolay. He was also a member of the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine.

Mr. Judkins served in the Maine National Guard from 1925 to 1927.

He married Mary Ella MacKenzie on Nov. 26, 1925. She died in 1988.

A daughter, Christine B. Guay, and two sons, Jonnie and Earl, died previously.

He is survived by a daughter, Patricia DeWitz of Naples and Melbourne, Fla.; a son, David R. of St. Augustine, Fla.; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Raymond/Weston-Chandler Funeral Home, 119 Main St., Norway, with the Rev. John Ellis of the Second Congregational Church of Norway officiating. Burial will be in the Norway Pine Grove Cemetery in South Paris.
