Died, at her home in Canadice, Wednesday, May 13, of lung trouble, Mrs. Emily J. Gilbert, wife of Francis M. Gilbert, aged 54 years, 7 months and 21 days. Though Mrs. Gilbert had been in feeble health for some time, none but her own family circle considered her dangerously ill, and her death was a sudden and painful shock. She was a woman of amiable disposition, highly esteemed and sincerely attached to her friends. Since the death, four years ago, of her youngest son, she had been a constant mourner. She leaves three sisters, two residents of Michigan; two brothers, a husband and only surviving son to deplore her loss, The funeral services were held from the Canadice church on Friday at 11am, Rev, P. M. Harmon, of the M. E. church at East Bloomfield, officiating. She was buried in the Davis cemetery by the side of her deeply mourned son.
