Leroy A. "Butch" Driscoll, 65 of Erie died Sunday November 17, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Erie on July 4, 1948 son of the late John A. Driscoll Sr. and Eda Niksa Driscoll Shulkoski. Leroy worked at GE as a machinist for many years. He played semi-pro football for the former Erie Jets as a defensive tackle. Butch was very kindhearted and his generosity was never limited. He met daily at Dominick's Eatery with the "Back Table Group". He volunteered at the Thanksgiving Dinner that Dominick's Eatery hosted for many years. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Helena "Patty" Welsh Driscoll. Survivors include his sisters, Patricia Lukowich and husband Paul of Lakeland Fla., Donna Loper and husband Ronald of Erie, and Peg Wisinski of Erie, brothers, John A. Driscoll Jr. and wife Dorothy of Fairview, Joseph R. Driscoll and wife Linda of Girard, and Timothy Driscoll and wife Sharon of Phoenix Ariz., and many nieces and nephews. Friend may attend a Memorial Service at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home Inc. 2101 Ash St. Thursday at 11 a.m. Private burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery Hermitage, Pa. with his wife. In lieu of flower memorials may be made to the family.
