OLNEY — Lillie Jones Flanders, 81, died on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be on Friday, November 22, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church in Olney with Andy Graham, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Lillie was born on April 20, 1932, in Young County, Texas, to the late Henry and Lillie (Lafayette) Gathings. She was a lifetime resident of Olney, a homemaker, and a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church. She had worked at Haggar Manufacturing in Olney, was a member of the "Funtastics" musical group, and had participated in various area Jamborees. She married Hubert Arvell Jones on February 18, 1953, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1997. She married Wendell Flanders on April 2, 2006 in Olney, Texas.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Hubert; five brothers: Virgil Gathings, David Gathings, Richard Gathings, Jodie Gathings and Dub Gathings; and two sisters: Francis Thetford and Lucile Timmons.
Lillie is survived by her husband, Wendell Flanders of Olney; five sons: Jimmie Lee Jones and wife LaTenna of Graham, Hubert Keith Jones and wife Catherine of Olney, Dennis Ray Jones of Megargel, William Roy Jones and wife Debbie of Olney, Scott Flanders and wife Kim of Washington, Illinois; seven daughters: Patricia Ann Story and husband Bill of Olney, Zimmie Fay Walters and husband Robert of Arlington, Texas, Pamela Marie Bowling of Megargel, Kimberly Ruth Williams and husband Glenn of Olney, Susan Wilson and husband George of Craig, Colorado, Sally Peters and husband Barry of Boerne, Texas, Sharyn Enloe and husband Clovis of Overton, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Family visitation will be on Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home.
