She was a teacher's aide and was the first female school bus driver for the Eastern Allamakee School District. She also spent many summers working in Wisconsin Dells where she met good friends Herb and Annie. Millie lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed outdoor activities: camping with family, squirrel hunting, and fishing. She loved playing pool, Euchre, washers, and Yahtzee with a competitive spirit, and she never missed a World Series. She shared many special memories with her best friend Jeanne Marth, and was a story in herself. Millie had a giving spirit, and went out of her way to help or comfort anyone in need. A woman of profound influence on her friends, family, and those who knew her, Millie's heart and smile were as full and bountiful as her cookie tins. Millie was a breast cancer survivor.
She is survived by two daughters Nancy Kay (Daniel) Frank and Candia Sue (Michael) Sanders; 6 grandchildren; and her 10 great grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Bublitz, Betty (Delbert) Timmerman, and Barbara Miller; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing, Iowa.
