Helen Ann Cragun passed away peacefully at the age of 104 surrounded by family and friends at the Maple Mountain Assisted Living in Mapleton, Utah.
Helen was born February 14, 1909 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Edward Morris Rowe and Melvina Berry Rowe.
She graduated from Spanish Fork High School where she received lettering pins and served as a high school student body officer. Helen graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education.
Helen married Frank Stubbs Cragun on December 31, 1946 in Provo, Utah. They were blessed with one daughter, Ann. Helen spent many years as a junior high and high school teacher.
Helen was active in her church and community. She was involved in many clubs in the Salt Lake, Utah County and Nebo areas. At the age of 88 Helen started working with Robert Redford and the Utah Department of Transportation on the Planning and Oversight Committee for the new Provo Canyon Highway.
At the age of 100, she was recognized by the Utah State Legislature for her years of service as an educator and for her tireless service to the Utah Department of transportation. Helen was a loved aunt, grandmother and sister to many.
She is survived by her daughter Ann (Warren) Royall, grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and one great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 18, 2013 at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel, 4300 North Canyon Road, Provo, Utah.
Friends and family may call from 9:30 – 10:30 am prior to the service at the same location
