Thelma L. Cazonie, 86, of Minersville, passed away late Thursday evening at Schuylkill Medical Center – South Jackson Street.
Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Gertrude Neidlinger Best.
Thelma attended the Pottsville Area schools. She was a member of St. Matthew the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Minersville, and of the former St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Minersville.
She was a housewife who enjoyed taking care of her family. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy in life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Cazonie, in 1993; two brothers, Thomas Best and Robert Best; and a sister, Betty Carter.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Cazonie, Minersville, and Linda Spotts and her husband, William, Pottsville; two sons, David Cazonie, Minersville, and Joseph Cazonie and his wife, Marcella, Minersville; five grandchildren, Jody Nazarian, Steven Spotts, Robert Cazonie, Angela Cazonie and Gino Cazonie; two great-grandchildren, George Nazarian and John Nazarian; two brothers, Clarence Best, Lancaster, and William Best, Pottsville; a sister, Ruth "Pat" Moore, Pottsville; nieces and nephews.
Internment in St. Francis Cemetery, Minersville. The Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville is in charge of arrangements.
