He was born in Bennington, Vt. on January 29, 1944 a son of the late Kenneth and Ruth (Fonda) Bump. He graduated from the former Williamstown High School with the class of 1961. He was a self employed master carpenter and the owner and operator of the Bump and McAlpine and later for Tom Bump Carpentry in Williamstown.
His greatest joy was spending time at his camp and on his boat at Lake St. Catherine.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Barbara (Ellsworth) Bump whom he married June 1, 1963 in St. Patrick's Church, Williamstown; two children, Laurie Wiles and her husband Alan of Cheshire and Michael Bump and his wife Diana of Williamstown; one granddaughter, Jillian Bump of Williamstown; and two brothers Richard Bump of Cambridge, N.Y. and William Bump of Williamstown.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services will take place Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Parklawn Cemetery, Bennington, Vt. Calling Hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
