Hold Services For Mrs Martha Adams
Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Adams were held at the Turner Funeral Home Friday afternoon, Dec. 17 with the Rev Carl Nelson officiating. Mrs. Adams passed away Dec. 15 at the St. Joseph hospital in Centerville at the age of 72 years, three months and 25 days. Interment was at the Sales cemetry.
Mrs. Adams was born August 20, 1878, near Moravia, the daughter of Josiah and Sarah Hamblen, and spent her life in this community. She was married in 1899 to Quiller Adams, who died in April, 1941. She was also preceded in death by three sons and a daughter. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Ottumwa.
Surviving are three sons, Merrill of Ottumwa and Gleo and James at home, three grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Emma Norris of Gorman, Texas, and Mrs. Mary Phillips of Ottumwa, and a brother, G. W. Hamblen of Foss, Okla.
