Richard Wayne Byard, 67, Princeton, died at 2:52 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, following a long illness.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Morgan's Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Cliff Jones and David Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Caldwell County, he was born Feb. 12, 1946, the son of the late Wallace and Myrtle Grace Childress Byard.
He was a brakeman with the Illinois Central Railroad, and served in the U.S. Army.
He was also a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Paulette Stegar Byard; and his son, Richard McKinley Byard, Princeton.
