This excellent woman finished a life of usefulness, on Friday May 25 in this city, and was laid to rest after impressive services at the P.M. Church conducted by Rev. S.R. Chubb last Sunday afternoon.
Deceased was born in England 78 years ago, and came with her husband and children to America in 1866. For most of the time she resided on farms in the towns of Mineral Point and Willow Springs but a few years ago, she came with her husband to reside in Mineral Point.
Surviving her are the husband, three sons and three daughters. Alfred residing in Chicago, Sampson and Mrs. John Hadfield at Oak Park, Ill., John, Emily and Mrs. Benson at Darlington. All of these except Sampson were present at the funeral. Also Mrs. John, and Mrs. Sampson Rogers and Mr. Benson.

Friday September 24, 1897
Annie, wife of Alfred Rogers, died after suffering long from disease of the heart, at Aurora Illinois, on the seventh day of September 1897. She was born at Fish Creek, in the town of Bangor, La Crosse Co on April 3, 1862. She was therefore 35 yrs 5 months and 4 days old when she departed this life.
She was the daughter of David B. and Catherine Johns. Her mother died in the Fall of 1871 when Annie was between 9 & 10 years of age. On the day of her mothers funeral, although in tender years, yet she realized what that event signified. She expressed the deepest sorrow on that occasion that the writer ever witnessed.
She was hopefully converted to God during a series of revival meetings held at the Baptist church in Bangor. Conducted by the late Rev. William Jones and soon became a member of the Baptist church of Bangor Wisconsin. On Oct. 18, 1888 Rev. Dr. Crawford at Sparta married her to Alfred Rogers. Two daughters were born to them the elder being 6 years old and the younger 4 years of age when their mother died.
Her remains were brought to Bangor for burial. Her funeral took place on the 9th of Sept. 1897. Rev. Dr. Crawford of Sparta preached the funeral discussed at the Baptist church. In the discourse the speaker very appropriately mentioned (unreadable) _Her memorial remains were interned at Fairview cemetery, Bangor in the same lot where her dear mother was buried 26 years ago. Mrs. Rogers was blessed with good memory, keen perceptive and brilliant gifts.

· Annie’s husband, Alfred remarried on 19 Sep 1900 in Willow
Springs, Lafayette Co., Wisconsin to widow, Jeannette (Walker) Grange and
daughter of Thomas and Rachel (Benson) Walker. They had a dau
who was born and died in 1903. They raised Alfred and Annie’s
two daughters, Florence Annie (1891-1979) aka Mrs. August
Sundine and Olive Celia (1893-1985) aka Mrs. Carl Frank Brown.
