NESS CITY - Ada Lavon Stiawalt, 96, passed away Nov. 11, 2013, at Cedar Village Long Term Care, Ness City, Kan. Ada was born Nov. 15, 1916, at her home near Alexander, the oldest of the six children of Henry and Alice (Bott) Boese and was raised southeast of Bazine, Kan.

Ada graduated from Bazine High School with the class of 1936 after which she taught country schools for six years. She married Glenn Stiawalt Sept. 24, 1939, at her parent's home and lived in the Beeler and Spearville communities before moving to Ness City in 1949. Of this union two children were born. Glenn and Ada were partners in the West Side Service and members of the First Baptist Church of Ness City.

Ada is survived by her son, eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Ada was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn on Aug. 1, 1977; her daughter, Vickie Dannewitz on Aug. 5, 2005; her brothers, Art, Harvey, Ralph, and Eddie Boese; and sister, Divina Keller.

Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Ness City, Kan. Burial in Ness City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to First Baptist Church, Ness City.
