Lawrence "Larry" R. Graves, 80, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls.

Lawrence was born May 25, 1933 in Dike, Iowa, the son of Henry & Gepka (Van Deest) Graves. He married Dorothy Aswegen December 5, 1956 in Aplington, Iowa.

Lawrence graduated from Dike High School, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, farmed and was employed at John Deere & Company for 30 years, retiring in 1993.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Cedar Falls; two sons, Tim (Mary) Graves of Cedar Falls and Tom (Barb) Graves of Waterloo; three daughters, Tammi (Tim) Staudt of Cedar Falls, Terri (Mike) Joines of Lakeville, Minnesota and Traci (Troy) Faulkner of Byron, Minnesota; ten grandchildren; a brother, Raymond (Jo) Graves of Holland, Michigan; two sisters, Irene Neuberger of Cedar Falls and Beverly Tanis of Freeport, Illinois; a brother-in-law, Garrold Bootsma of Sheldon, Iowa and a sister-in-law, Bev Graves of Cedar Falls.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Joe, Marvin, Harold and Dennis Graves, and two sisters, Leona Gronewald and Evelyn Bootsma.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2013 at Orchard Hill Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for one hour prior to service time at the church.
