H.E. Pitcher of Ulster, Pa., brother of the postmaster at Owego, was killed by an Erie freight train about half way between this place and Waverly, early Thursday morning. He was seen in Waverly about two o'clock that morning, and as his watch stopped at seventeen minutes past four, it is supposed he was killed at that time. His body was brought to this village, where the remains were viewed by the coroner and a jury, and they adjourned until next Tuesday. He was sixty-five years of age, and leaves a wife and daughter.
