Ruth Elizabeth Spears, 99, died November 13, 2013.
A native of South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Whiley and Elizabeth Black and the widow of Clyde Spears. She was preceded in death by two daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Frank Brannon of Watkinsville and Donna and Woody Butler of Macon; grandson, Robert Brannon of Athens; great grandson, Nathan Terpin of Watkinsville; three brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Spears retired from Rich's Department Stores after twenty-five years and was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church and their XYZ Club.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST with Rev. Doug Nix officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta with Rev. J.W. Wallis officiating. The family will received friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Mark (Carol) Brannon, Stephen (Rita) Brannon, Paul (Stacy) Brannon, Scott (Phyllis) Brannon, Shari (Jim) Terpin and Gary (Julie) Butler; granddaughter-in-law, Kim Brannon; twenty-four great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
