Karen Alaine Borton, of Manton, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. She was 66.

Karen was born on November 8, 1947, in Cadillac, to Loren and Edith (Watson) Fellows. Karen entered into marriage on December 14, 1963, to Ivan Eugene Borton, who preceded her in death on July 24, 2011, after 47 years together.

Karen enjoyed knitting and sewing, often spending time creating blankets, dolls and doll clothing; many of which her grandchildren enjoy. Karen could often be found watching television and was a faithful follower of soap operas, "NCIS" and "Jeopardy." In earlier years, she liked to bowl and even got good enough to beat a few family members.

Karen is survived by her loving family: her four daughters; Kathryn (Greg) Szymkawiak and Diana Kaminski, all of Gaylord, Mary Borton of Lake City, and June Borton of Manton; her son, Jon (Melanie) Borton of Cadillac; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren with another expected in March; 11 siblings; several in-laws, nieces and nephews; her faithful companion, Petunia; and many other loving family members and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan E. Borton; a younger sister, Brenda Fellows; and her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at Rollins Christian Fellowship Church on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Bart Glupker will officiate. Graveside committal services will be held at Soper Cemetery in Colfax Township.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in care of her son, Jon Borton.
